The Redwood City Police Department is an organization of professionals who are dedicated to providing the best police services possible. The Department is comprised of 96 sworn officers, 36 civilian employees, 4 reserve officers, and 25 volunteers who reflect the diverse communities they serve.
We are a progressive police department which recognizes that by working in a partnership with our community, we can best meet our goals of protecting life and property, improving the quality of life, and reducing crime and the fear of crime. The Department's motto is "Providing Excellent Service with Integrity and Respect."
The Redwood City Police Department is overseen by Chief of Police, Kristina Bell, who was appointed in 2023. The Department is divided into three organizational divisions, including the Patrol Division, the Investigations Division, and the Support Services Division.
