Coronavirus (COVID-10) Update - March 2, 2020
March 2, 2020: San Mateo County Health has confirmed that a resident of San Mateo County is presumptive positive for Coronavirus. The case is pending confirmatory testing by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The adult patient has been hospitalized and is in isolation. The City of Redwood City continues to closely monitor the situation and operational changes have been implemented, including supplying protective gear for employees, providing more hand sanitizing stations and enhanced cleaning in public facilities. At this time, all schools in Redwood City remain open and City facilities and programs are fully operational.
The County of San Mateo activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to support the local County Health response to Coronavirus. The EOC, housed in the County's Regional Operations Center in Redwood City, provides a centralized location to coordinate resources and communication with other local and state governments, regional emergency services and community partners.
