Free music for ten full weeks throughout the summer! With unique and varied musical performances — including Motown, Celtic, Zydeco, Rockabilly, Funk, Soul and much more— families and friends will enjoy our free outdoor concert series, in the relaxing setting of beautiful Stafford Park.

There is also a concession tent selling hamburgers, hot dogs, potato chips and drinks, graciously operated by the Optimist Club of Redwood City. All proceeds benefit the Save the Music program in Redwood City Schools.

Based in Redwood City and playing the best dance, rock, pop and soul from across the decades, Janel and the Heist is an uplifting, high-energy entertainment experience that will get you out of your seat. Fronted by season 13 American Idol top 75 finalist and power-singer Janel Tan, the band has played everything from weddings to wineries, to corporate parties to benefits to bars, always pa cking the house with energy and passion.

California Cowboys

R. W. Smith and the California Cowboys deliver a powerful sound, with the clear punch of tight three-part harmonies. And such rowdy, foot stompin' original songs as "We Ride' em We Rope' em" and "Double Shot of Hank", it's easy to see this band will always go over in a big way with any audience. As lead singer and song-writer, R.W. is the polished showman. He dances and jokes with the audience while delivering top billing entertainment. Together with drummer Hal Atkinson (CCMA’s Drummer of the year, 1994), guitar player Gary Potterton ( producer of "Grandma got run over by a Reindeer". bass player, Cary Atkinson and legendary Steel Guitarist, Bobby Black. These fine musicians form one of California's most successful country-western bands. With a solid draw and non-stop show, promoters and sponsors know the Cowboys can fill the seats with cheering audiences. 

The Cowboys have appeared on concert billings with such country favorites as Alabama, The Judds, Dwight Yoakam, Merle Haggard, Ronnie Milsap, George Jones, Joe Diffe, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, The Bellamy Brothers, Pam Tillis, Travis Tritt, Doug Stone, Alan Jackson, George Strait, and many other country stars.

Since forming in 1988, Tempest has delivered a globally-renowned hybrid of high-energy Folk Rock fusing Irish reels, Scottish ballads, Norwegian influences and other world music elements. The last 30 plus years have seen the San Francisco Bay Area based act release seventeen critically acclaimed CDs and play more than 2,500 gigs. It's also enjoyed an evolving line-up that's enabled musicianship and creativity to rise with each new member.

Signed to Sony-distributed Magna Carta Records, Tempest's releases are acclaimed worldwide. This year, the group celebrates its 30th Anniversary with the latest studio CD, Thirty Little Turns, a collection of inspired new original and traditional material -- with a cheeky surprise or two.

Tempest is regularly featured at prestigious festivals such as The Philadelphia Folk Festival, and has also appeared at Denmark's Skagen Festival, Britain's Cropredy Festival and The Winnipeg Folk Festival in Canada. The band is a mainstay at countless American Celtic festivals, as well.

Jinx Jones and the KingTones

Jinx Jones has been twice nominated for Male Rockabilly Artist of the Year by the Ameripolitan Music Awards, has received gold and platinum record awards for his work with R&B divas, En Vogue, has won songwriting awards and has been recognized as one of the hottest acts on the San Francisco music scene.

In Jinx Jones’ impressive musical career he has visited nearly every conceivable style and genre of the electric guitar. From his work Chuck Berry, Solomon Burke, and Roy Buchanan to his own acclaimed rockabilly albums, “License to Twang,” “Rumble & Twang,” “Rip and Run,” Live Twang in Finland.” And “Twang-Tastic!,” Jones has always strived to expand the possibilities of the instrument. He accepts every musical challenge head-on, always making an impressive statement with his music. The one thing that remains consistent throughout Jones’ multi-stylistic journey is the grace and finesse of his virtuoso playing.

We are a 14-piece roots reggae band based out of the Live In Peace Studio in East Palo Alto, CA, and share the organization's same vision for healing and social justice. We believe that music is a powerful tool for both personal and social uplift, and we are committed to producing and performing music for that purpose. We aim to keep alive the sound and feel of classic Jamaican roots bands.
